ADVENTURE FIFTEEN: Dunedin

Controversial as it may seem to some, we arrived in Dunedin with a huge question mark as to whether to include it in the final ZigZag itinerary at all.

There were temptations to drive north via the scenic Pig Route or Dansey’s Pass and miss out the Otago Peninsula altogether.

But what a fantastic time we have had being tourists in Dunedin! It has much more to offer than we knew about and we hardly even spent any time exploring the interesting historical city centre. Great coffee and foodie options, architecture, street art, museums and gardens are everywhere and the landscapes and wildlife in and around the outer Harbour region took our breath away. We were very tempted to smuggle the cute seals into our car...

Particular highlights for us were:
- Signal Hill lookout
- Mt Cargill lookout
- Port Chalmers Wharf & Lookout
- Larnach Castle scenic drive
- Glenfalloch House & Gardens
- Tunnel Beach
- Okia Flats
- Royal Albatross Centre
- Portobello
- Sandfly Bay
- Hoopers inlet
- Railway Station (Photo cleverly disguises scaffolding on the other half!)
- University of Otago buildings
- Street Art
- Good coffee!!!

As a result, Dunedin will definitely  feature in the final ZigZag tour.
