Travel Visa – You do not need a visa if travelling from a visa waiver country and are intending to stay for no longer than 3 months. You will however need to obtain an NZeTA. Please check the government websites for up-to-date visa information and the visa waiver country list.
If you wish to stay in NZ for longer than 3 months, you will probably require a Visitor Visa. An online form must be filled out and submitted before you travel. It’s 16 pages long but do not worry – many of the answers simply require a single ‘yes’ or ‘no’ and if you are not intending to stay in NZ for longer than a year, then most of the answers will be a ‘no’.Please consider very carefully the dates of the trip you are looking to book with ZigZag as this will determine the type of visa you will need. Remember our longest trip is 90 days from start to finish – allow for additional time in Auckland or Christchurch, in case of jet lag, any possible delays, and time differences.
