NZ has more than 2000 Glaciers. The most famous being FranzJosef and Fox Glacier. We stayed in the small town of Franz Josef, but also drove the 30mins along to Fox and managed to do some of the many walks up to and around the Glaciers. Our highlight was by far the helicopter ride we then took flying us high over Franz Josef, Mt Cook and actually making a snow landing on the top of Fox Glacier. And then a highlight on top of that highlight was, seeing a young chamois (deer) bounding about in the snow just aswe were coming into land-apparently a very rare sight, so we feel very lucky and a little bit smug for capturing it on film-see our video’s below!
